When she started writing songs frequently, she travelled to Nashville as well as visited music studios as well as record labels in hopes of finding a contract. Decker's second album, announced as Daughter of a Gypsy and Sweet American Dreams by Mercury Records was shelved after Mercury noticed the weak performance of three of Decker's singles on the country charts.
