Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American performer and actress, is quite famous. Sara Ramirez was brought up by an American mother, and was subjected to a variety of racist taunts that made her feel unwelcome. When she was in 9th grade she started to feel more confident when she was acknowledged by her teachers as a success for her performance at school's audition. It not only boosted the confidence of her, but was also a change in the direction in which she went on to pursue her professional career. At 22 she was a graduate of the New York's Julliard School. At the age of 23, her first Broadway appearance in Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her film debut You've Got Mail were both her big breaks. Her biggest breakthrough was when she appeared in the part of The Lady of The Lake in the first Broadway production of Spamalot receiving not just the Tony Award for her performance as well as a lot of critical praise. In the following year she was cast in the role of Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gaining wider fame.
